A typical day in the life of Val at Barwise Jr. High School. I was not very interested in school and learning at ALL. Almost every class I knew who to cheat off of to pass. Its not that I disrespected that person its just that they were helping me out and I would help them out in any way I could. An even trade.
One day in 8th grade I overheard friends talking about how hard Miss Britton's English test was. I checked with 'my people' ( whom I cheated off of) to see if they were ready for the hard test. They were very nervous and not confident that they would do well. I knew I had to do something and I had to do it fast. I remember being in 2nd period and I was trying to come up with a plan by 4th period, Miss Britton's class. Then I remembered Miss Britton's birthday was coming up. I thought what a perfect time to throw her a surprise party, Since thats what most jr. high students do for their teacher that they don't even like and think is very weird. So I did some quick planning. I talked to my partner in crime, Katie Riley and we made some quick decision. The theme was "cats" Miss Britton loves Cats!! I went to the Book Fair that was going on in the library and purchased a Cat Poster. I cant remember who, But someone called their mom to pick up a birthday cake and some balloons and have it dropped off before 4th period. We did some major scrambling to get the word out that 4th period was going to be a surprise party so we could get out of taking a test. The news traveled quickly and we made some home aid birthday cards as we were sitting in class before the bell rang. Right as the tardy bell rang for Miss Brittons 4th period class, Katie ( my PIC) comes running in just a few seconds late. Miss Britton sends her to the office and writes her up. Katie was pissed! Katie was late because she was waiting on the cake to get there. She goes to the office and comes back with a birthday cake and we all yell "Surprise". Miss Britton tore up the write up that she had given Katie and dismissed her from getting in trouble because she was so happy we threw her surprise party!!!! We gave her the Cat poster and a few home aid cards and she announced "well, I guess we wont have time to take a test today" and then I let out a long sigh of relief... mission accomplished.
the end

Ahh, Valerie. I was one of those people who had no idea why someone would go to great lengths just to put off a test - I didn't want to have to have another full night of cramming. You all got her a cake?!? That's hilarious! I'm so glad that everyone's not the same as me - what a boring world it would be!
I remember you telling me about that and I didn't believe it. Way to go you ole good role model you. Just send Cruz to live with us when he starts Jr. High.
